High on the volcanic slopes of Hawaii’s Big Island, where basaltic soils and ocean breezes meet, lies Kopiko Estate—part of the legendary Greenwell Farms. At 2,800 feet above sea level, these trees grow slowly, allowing sugars and flavor compounds to develop deeply within each bean.

Coffee first arrived in Hawaii in 1828, but it was Henry Nicholas Greenwell’s vision in the 1850s that cemented Kona’s place on the world stage. Greenwell Farms remains a cornerstone today, balancing tradition and innovation across their 100 acres of prime Kona coffee belt land. They not only grow their own exceptional crops but also support hundreds of local farmers, sustaining Hawaii’s most iconic agricultural product.

Kopiko Estate’s harvest is meticulously hand-picked, washed, and sun-dried to protect the coffee’s delicate structure. This process, combined with the estate’s unique terroir, reveals a cup bursting with golden honey sweetness, crisp Meyer lemon acidity, and a smooth undercurrent of roasted macadamia. The finish is clean, lingering like a Pacific breeze.

Hawaiian coffee is a true rarity, representing less than 0.05% of global production. Yet its impact is outsized: coffee is Hawaii’s top agricultural export by value, supporting thousands of farming and tourism jobs. Farms like Greenwell draw travelers from around the world for tastings, tours, and a chance to walk among the storied groves that shaped Kona’s reputation.

Each jar from Kopiko Estate carries not just flavor, but history: from the early days of trade winds and clipper ships to the modern stewardship of a family whose name helped put Kona on the map. It’s a coffee—and a place—worth discovering.
